What Does "Lamson" Mean?
At some time in the late 1800's the ministry of the gospel began to become active in the area of the town of Lamson, Minnesota. Services were held in homes and conducted by able leaders in the community or by visiting ministers. Several churches were organized at this time. One of those churches was incorporated on February 4, 1908 as the Swedish Free Church of Lamson.

In 1950 the Norwegian-Danish Free Churches joined with the Swedish Free Churches to form what is now the Evangelical Free Church of America.

As a result of this merger the Swedish Free Church of Lamson changed its name to Lamson Evangelical Free Church. In September of 1988 the church moved into its new building in Dassel where many of its members resided. It is now known as Lamson Evangelical Free Church of Dassel.

Lamson Evangelical Free Church celebrated its 100th year anniversary in 2008.
